DR. AIMEE SHERRE BARRION
Food and Nutrition, University of the Philippines, Los Baños (UPLB)
She is a registered Nutritionist-Dietitian in the Philippines, is a Professor of Food and Nutrition at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Prior to her work in the university, Dr. Barrion had a stint as a food service manager in a fast-food chain. She was assigned as the Division Head of the Food Management Administrative Division of the Institute from 2001-2002 and in 2011-2013 and was appointed as the Associate Dean of the College of Human Ecology from 2013 to 2015 before she became the Director of the institute in 2021. She obtained her undergraduate and master’s degrees in nutrition from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She received her PhD in Food Science at the same university.
In 2011, she took short courses on food safety at the University of Jakarta (SEAMEO) in 2005 and at the Wageningen University and Research in 2018. Dr. Barrion served as the editor -in-chief of the Journal of Human Ecology from 2014 to 2018 and one of the associate editors of the Journal of Nutritionist-Dietitians Association of the Philippines from 2018 till present. She also has presented several papers in various for scientific for a both national and international. In terms of extension, Dr. Barrion has been engaged regularly in trainings and seminars on food service food safety and food service management.
