The College of Mass Communication teams up with TVUP and the UPOU for a webinar on Digital Literacy and Critical Digital Literacy in the morning and for a workshop on producing a Vlog.

The Webinar aims to enhance the participants’ skills needed to live, learn, and work in a society where communication and access to information is
increasingly through digital technologies like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices (Digital Literacy). Moreover, in the context of Critical Digital Literacy, the webinar will hopefully make active and engaged thinkers and creators in digital environments among the participants. It will also develop and enhance the participants’ skills, competencies, and analytical viewpoints that allows a person to use, understand, and create digital media and tools.

For the workshop of producing a Vlog, it aims to introduce the participants to the various techniques of producing a vlog and for them to be able to create a link connecting their vlogs to the APRU Website. Participants will also learn how to create visual narratives of their experiences with APRU and of their advocacies. Essentially, Vlog posts consist of creating a video of oneself where the vlog creator can talk on a particular subject such as reporting or reviewing a product or an event or sharing their advocacies. A vlog can also serve as a way to share one’s artistic process or provide a tutorial guide on a creative practice or topic.
