She is a Professor of Leisure Science, Active Ageing, and Comparative Physical Education at the College of Human Kinetics, University of the Philippines Diliman. She is part of the CHK Graduate Studies Program, specifically handling academic, research and extension activities of the MS Human Movement Science and Diploma in Exercise and Sport Science degree programs. 

Prof. Uy is also the Project Development Associate for Student Mobility of the Office for International Linkages Diliman. She is active in organizations like: Board Member of the Asian Society of Adapted Physical Activity (ASAPE) and Philajames Foundation; Founding President of the Philippine Society of Adapted Physical Activity (PhilSAPA) and TEAM LEISURE; Chair of the 50th Anniversary and past national president of the Philippine Association of Japan Scholars (Philajames). 

With a Master of Education (Comparative Physical Education/Leisure Studies) from the Yokohama National University (MEXT Scholar) and a Bachelor of Education (major Physical Education/minor Health Education) at UPD, Prof. Uy has special trainings in Exercise Gerontology, Post-Disaster Intervention through Sports, Dance Movement Therapy, and was a Visiting Professor at the Woosong University Korea. Her research interests are on Leisure Education (for diverse population) and Constructs, and Comparative Physical Education. 

Prof. Uy has published and presented her researches in major international conferences like the World Leisure Congress, World Congress on Active Ageing, and the Olympic, Asian Games and SEA Games Scientific Conferences. As the former CHK Dean and Director of its Graduate Studies Program, Prof. Uy’s initiatives centered on institutional linkages, research and curriculum development.
