Meg earned both her bachelor’s and Master of Science degree in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Banos. She is a University Researcher under the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies of the UP Open University. Her research interests include: student support and communication in Open and Distance eLearning environments among others.

Meg currently serves as UPOU’s Program Development Associate (PDA) for International Linkages. She is the UPOU coordinator for the OU5 Research collaboration, consisting of five open and distance education institutions in the ASEAN member countries namely: Indonesia’s Universitas Terbuka (UT), Open University of Malaysia (OUM), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), Thailand’s Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU), and Vietnam’s Hanoi Open University (HOU).

She is also involved in Erasmus+ Programme funded project titled Advancing Equity and Access to Higher Education Through Open and Distance Learning (BUKA project) which aims to promote equity and access to higher education in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines through the use of inclusive instructional design and learning analytics in the context of open and distance elearning (ODeL).

Meg is also PDA under the Office of the Chancellor and serves as assistant/secretariat to the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee (CAC). At present, her stint as tutor in the UPOU Master of Development Communication program and other committee engagements occupy her time.
