She earned her BS Agriculture (cum laude) and MS Plant Breeding at the University
of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), and PhD Plant Sciences at North Dakota State
University, Fargo, North Dakota, USA.

In 2016, she was recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Scientists of the
National Academy of Science and Technology for her work experience in corn
breeding that contributed to the identification of superior corn populations for
better nutrition.

In 2019, she was one of the recipients of the One UP Faculty grant for her
outstanding accomplishments in teaching and research in Crop Science.
She is an Associate Professor 6 in the Institute of Crop Science, College of
Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS), UPLB, and is serving as head of the Crop
Breeding and Genetic Resources Division, Institute of Crop Science, CAFS, UPLB.
